Levenshulme Musicians back Noel Gallagher stance over Glastonbury

Levenshulme musicians have teamed up with m19 bar in Levenshulme village in backing Noel Gallagher’s criticism of this years Glastonbury festival and the fact that the festival are having a hip hop act headline the festival instead of a guitar band.

They are organizing their own guitar driven weekend Acoustic festival of live bands and solo artists. The Festival starts on Friday 27 June and runs through to Sunday 29 June. Promoter James Hennigan said “It would be great to see a local hero such as Noel at the festival, I’m sure we could squeeze him in somewhere. We totally agree with Noel’s comments about Glastonbury, he will not need his wellies at our festival in Sunny Levenshulme. We have still got one of the original demo tapes that ‘Oasis’ sent out when they were starting off, we are going to give it a blast during the weekend and see if he can still remember some of the tracks. According to the BBC Noel has already said he does not want to play the giant O2 in London as its too big, well our venue is a lot smaller than that!!!”

Acts already confirmed are Dave Abbot, Rania, Colin Wakeford, Inego, Easy Dream, Blue Aurora, The News, Pretty Ripped, Syd Bozko, Elivation, The Clay Faces, Kev Critchley, The Alun Parry Band, Avant Gardner and Picnic Area.

Syd Bozko the winner of this years YGG Unsigned 2008 which was supported by XFM Radio are launching their debut album during the weekend. THe album was recorded in the same studio as Oasis made one of their first albums - The Cutting Room Studios in Abraham Moss.
