Question your local Government Candidates on 26th April 2008 at Cedar Mount School, Matthews Lane, 2-4pm

The Friends of Levenshulme are celebrating the spirit of local democracy by hosting an open hustings where the public will be question the candidates standing in the local elections on May 1st.

Since our community is split between two wards, we have invited all nine candidates standing in both Gorton South and Levenshulme wards.

The issues that have arisen time and time again during our campaign are under-investment in our public services and community facilities, issues surrounding the physical environment, and concern over the decline of our district centre's shops.

We think the electorate should know where the different parties stand on these important issues facing our area, and we hope the candidates will be glad of this chance to share their vision with voters.

It promises to be a lively and informative debate.
